Job Title: Network Field Engineer Location: London (Hybrid with European Travel) Salary: £45,000 – £55,000
A well-established IT services provider is looking for a Network Field Engineer to join their growing delivery team. This is a practical, field-based role focused on implementing and supporting enterprise network solutions across customer sites in London and mainland Europe.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in Cisco networking, particularly BGP and MPLS, who’s looking to gain more experience in large-scale, multi-site environments. You'll be part of a close-knit, technically strong team working on varied projects that have real impact.
As a Network Field Engineer, you’ll be involved in both the implementation and support of complex network environments, with a focus on Cisco technologies. You’ll need to be comfortable with hands-on work, customer interactions, and occasional European travel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installing, configuring, and supporting Cisco-based network solutions
- Carrying out on-site implementations and upgrades across enterprise clients
- Troubleshooting network issues in live environments
- Supporting day-to-day operations to ensure network stability and performance
- Creating documentation and handover materials for internal and client use
- Travelling to customer sites in Europe for project deployments
- Strong hands-on experience with routing and switching, including BGP and MPLS
- Proficient with Cisco networking hardware (Catalyst, Nexus, etc.)
- Comfortable working in the field and interacting with clients
- CCNA or higher certification, or equivalent practical experience
- Willing to travel across Europe for short-term project work
Desirable:
- Knowledge of WAN, VPN, and network security technologies
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience in NOC or engineering roles focused on network implementation
