Job Title: 3rd Line IT Support Engineer Location: Oxford (Hybrid) Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

- Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical incidents and service requests.
- Manage and resolve 3rd line support tickets, ensuring SLAs and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimise customer infrastructure across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.
- Proactively respond to monitoring alerts, identifying and resolving issues before they impact customers.
- Deliver infrastructure changes, upgrades, and technical improvements across client environments.
- Support customer onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Assist with project delivery and provide smooth handovers into the service team.
- Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Work closely with third-party vendors and technology partners to resolve complex issues.
- Travel to customer sites when required to support installations, projects, and technical escalations.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives and internal technical training.
- Develop specialist expertise across technologies such as cloud infrastructure, networking, security, or backup solutions.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience within an IT support, infrastructure, or managed services environment.
- Strong experience supporting Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, networking, backup, disaster recovery, Azure Virtual Desktop, and hybrid environments.
- Experience administering Microsoft Server environments and virtualisation technologies including VMware and Hyper-V.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, identity management, and cloud-based device management.
- Experience supporting networking technologies including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, wireless networking, and switching.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery platforms and best practices.
- Experience working with Microsoft security technologies, endpoint protection, conditional access, RBAC, and threat protection.
- Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell or similar technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working independently while collaborating effectively within a technical team.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Desirable Experience
- Certifications or experience with WatchGuard, Fortinet, Sophos, or Smoothwall firewalls.
- Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Dell, UniFi, or Meraki networking technologies.
- Knowledge of Apple Business Manager or Google Workspace.
- Experience with Mimecast, Barracuda, Veeam, Datto, or Acronis.
- Microsoft Azure or other relevant infrastructure certifications.
