Job Title: AV Service & Commissioning Engineer Location: St Albans Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (negotiable for standout candidates)

As an AV Service & Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be part of the Aftercare function, supporting clients once systems are live and ensuring installations continue to perform at the highest level. Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance visits and completing detailed service reports.
- Troubleshooting AV, control, and network issues both remotely and on-site.
- Responding to service callouts and resolving faults in high-end residential environments.
- Supporting system upgrades, minor works, and enhancements.
- Working independently while collaborating closely with other engineers and project teams.
- Providing a professional, customer-focused service when liaising with clients.
- Escalating complex technical issues where required.
- Maintaining accurate job notes, documentation, and system records.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, neatly, and to a high standard.
- Assisting the Projects team during busy periods when required.
- Strong experience with residential AV and control systems (Crestron, Control4, Savant).
- Solid understanding of multi-room AV, home cinema systems, and integrated audio.
- Proven experience with lighting and shading systems (Lutron essential).
- Familiarity with CCTV, video entry, and access control systems.
- Basic networking knowledge (VLANs; remote monitoring tools advantageous).
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with AV cabling and connectors; electrical knowledge beneficial.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working independently in client homes.
- Willingness to learn, develop, and broaden technical expertise.
- Computer literate, approachable, and professional in manner.

Working model:
