Job Title: Senior Penetration Tester (SC Cleared) Location: Remote, UK Salary: £600 per day
This is a UK cybersecurity consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-assurance security services into the public sector, working predominantly across UK government and defence. Founded in 2010 by a specialist with a background in security architecture and government programme delivery, the business has built deep expertise in secure, complex environments over more than a decade in the market.
The team is small, highly skilled, and directly engaged with some of the UK's most significant government departments, supporting critical national infrastructure and long-term programmes that genuinely matter. It is a remote-first environment where every consultant has a real impact on delivery, with only occasional visits to secure customer sites or data centres when the work requires it.
As Senior Penetration Tester, you'll join a close-knit team of experienced consultants working directly on a long-term government engagement, conducting application, API, and cloud infrastructure assessments within a complex, enterprise-scale AWS environment.
- Conduct application, API, and cloud infrastructure penetration testing within AWS-hosted environments
- Test and assess Kubernetes environments as part of cloud-native security assessments
- Work closely with development and engineering teams throughout engagements
- Contribute to the assessment and securing of CI/CD pipelines
- Operate independently while collaborating within a small, highly technical team
- Attend secure customer sites or data centres on an occasional basis when required
- Active SC Clearance, used within the last 12 months, is an essential requirement for this role
- CHECK Team Leader (Application) qualification
- Extensive hands-on experience testing AWS-hosted Kubernetes environments
- Strong background in application and API penetration testing
- Experience assessing and securing CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to operate independently within a small, highly technical team
- Previous experience delivering security services within the UK public sector is strongly preferred
- Contract rate of £600 per day
- Initial 6-month contract with a planned extension of up to 3 years
- Direct engagement with one of the UK's largest central government departments, with no subcontracting layers
- Remote-first working with minimal travel requirements
- Exposure to modern AWS, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps environments at enterprise scale
- Small, elite team where technical expertise is recognised and valued
